Whether you're a novice or expert physician surviving without medical facilities and modern medicine can be a huge challenge. This book organizes some of the common topics you may encounter along with solutions to repair bodies and minds of those in your group.

We've read this book cover to cover and even though we've been involved in Scouts for years we learned a TON. I found the part about pet medications simply being unregulated versions of restricted human medications to be very fascinating. Turns out you can buy meds that require prescriptions for human over the counter (OTC) for pets, and they're the same meds. Of course you want to read up before buying the meds but there's a lot to learn.

Quick Read - This is not a medical encyclopedia, it's straight forward and quick to digest.

Tips and Recommendations

Get trained - Hopefully this book isn't your first take on first aid. Get some CPR and first aid training in addition to this book.
Gear up - make sure you have first aid supplies on hand for an emergency.
