This emergency 72-hour kit is a great start for 4 people. It is focused on food and water supplies. The gear is decent quality but it's only intended to last a few days. It works great when you know you'll be home soon or you're headed to a well-stocked destination. It's a great grab-and-go for hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. that are localized and you know you're close to safety.
